As you may or may not know, the last episode of the LoungeCast has been pulled off of the Runners Lounge blog. I wholeheartedly agree with this decision. What was intended to be snarky at its worst, became hurtful and insulting. That's not something that I'm about and it's definitely not something that Runners Lounge is about.
Amy and Tom have worked extremely hard to make Runners Lounge an inviting place for every type of runner. I truly believe that this is why it has such an incredible and loyal following. As the producer of the LoungeCast, it's my responsibility to ensure that those same beliefs come through on the podcast. Unfortunately, it didn't. Not by a long shot. And, as a producer, it's also my editorial responsibility to decide what plays and what gets pulled. Long story short: the buck stops with me and I made a poor decision.
I've been in contact with those involved and I feel awful that those people were hurt. Again, I publicly send out my deepest apologies to them. It's easy to say, "It's just a blog/podcast", but the truth is is that people's feelings in this whole matter are very real.
Again, I apologize for my poor decision making. I can only hope that I can get past this and get back to enjoying blogging and podcasting.
Sincerely,
Matt

There is no such thing as bad publicity - I'm enthralled. I've never listened to the podcast, but now I'm dying to hear it. What did you guys do that was so bad?
Crap I knew I should have listened to it the other day, but I didn't have time. Now I really want to hear it. Unless of course you insulted me...yikes, what'd you guys do that was so bad?
Didnt hear the podcast, but I respect you for taking responsibility....not enough people do that these days. Nice job.
i didn't listen to it yet either... and even though i want to know what it was about now, obviously you made the right choice by taking it off and not hurting people's feelings.
glad i've never asked a question, but glad you made amends.
I think sometimes we all forget how powerful words can be once they are broadcast to a larger audience. Don't let one bad outing stop you from further posts and podcasts. You do a great job with the LoungeCast, and I applaud you for taking responsibility for this one flub. I know none of the participants meant to come off as mean spirited. Cheers.
Meh, no worries.
I heard the podcast and this seems way blown out of proportion to me. I'm surprised that so many people were so upset. I didn't think anything of it. Just saying.
I heard the podcast. I know it was done in the spirit of trying to be entertaining/funny. Whomever was offended needs to get thicker skin. It's a podcast... about... running! On top of that, it was
Laugh Tracks episode. C'mon people.
Now granted, there were certain individual(s) (Not you, Raz) that were bordering on annoying, but that's a topic for another discussion.
This only reaffirms that the pendulum has swung so far beyond political/social correctness, it's now in some other nether-zone that just makes me nauseated.
You're a good guy Razzadoodle. Great job on your post here.
It's over, and I hope you come back, and keep running.
